THE TOP FIVE SUNDAY TIMES BESTSELLING AUTHOR!
A heartwarming and hilarious novel from the bestselling author of Afternoon Tea at the Sunflower Cafe and The Queen of Wishful Thinking.
Ven, Roz, Olive and Frankie have been friends since school. They day-dreamed of glorious futures, full of riches, romance and fabulous jobs. The world would be their oyster.
Twenty-five years later, Olive cleans other people's houses to support her lazy, out-of-work husband and his ailing mother. Roz cannot show her kind, caring husband Manus any love because her philandering ex has left her trust in shreds. And she and Frankie have fallen out big time.
But Ven is determined to reunite her friends and realise the dream they had of taking a cruise before they hit forty. Before they know it, the four of them are far from home, on the high seas. Can blue skies, hot sun and sixteen days of luxury and indulgence change their outlook on life?

Money can buy you every happiness and your life can be fixed completely if you put the money into it. The story is of the cheapest kind. This is unreal, silly, simple book that is not worth reading page after page. It seems to be written like story board for a film with detailed moves of each character. One of four women wins the lottery but she does not tell her her three best friends and with a simple lie takes them to a cruise. And all of them fix their problems, they find the right love, they make it up for all years of lacking personal character and confusion.
Hundreds of pages for a story that sounds like this: For women with problems. One is a slave to a bad husband and mother in law but she never ever thinks of running away. The other has angry with her husband because her best friend has kissed him and for four years she was punishing him. The one that kissed him actually had cancer that was cured and she grew bigger boobs to gain self confidence. The forth one I don't even remember. So the four of them get on a very expensive cruise, they drink and eat, and sleep and drink, and eat and do shopping for dresses and look out of the window and sleep and drink. Finally the one that was angry with her husband found out about the cancer and forgave the friend she had forgotten and loved her husband again; the slave wife found her former love who was a widower and they felt the same passion of each other and then the friend who won the lottery gave each of the girls a few hundred thousand pounds.
Come on! It is PAINFULLY ridiculous! There is no humour in the book - just some rather weak and simple attempts.
This is the second book I have read by the same author and if I had started with this one, I would have never thought of her again. However, the other book was wonderful. I guess writing too much can bring such totally useless book as Here Come the Girls.

Here Come the Girls edition by Milly Johnson Literature Fiction eBooks Reviews
Great fun. I cared about each character and was kept in suspense as to their fates up until the very end, which made it compelling.
I really enjoyed seeing how each lady developed while on their cruise. Just goes to show that you need to live life to the fullest and make every day count. Very entertaining. I highly recommend.
What a wonderful read. I really enjoyed it. The author describes the girls so well. I felt like I was on the cruise. I have not done a cruise, but after reading this book, it will be on my bucket list. It is a light fun loving novel, and highly recommend it.
I read this book while away on holiday and it was a good light hearted read about four close friends that get to go on a cruise together which was was fun and so was the book...I really enjoyed it.
The premise of this story is lovely. A friend who has come into money shouts her friends a cruise. It was a fun read and I quite enjoyed it. Just 2 things bothered me. 1- why did they always go shopping on the ship and at their ports of call. I would have liked a bit more detail about the places they visited other than the shops. 2- I really disliked the vernacular used by the characters. I assume it must be very northern English. I felt like I was with some of the more unpleasant characters from Coronation Street. The word 'cock' was used too often. I felt the language was coarse and the characters use of it made them seem thick and uneducated. A more generic vocab would have been easier for me to connect with.
I've read all of Milly Johnson's books and haven't been disappointed yet. Her stories are fun, uplifting chic lit. This is a story about a group of friends who finally take the vacation, they have wanted to take their whole lives. All the women are in different places in their personal lives, but this trip will change each of their lives in different ways. If you haven't ever read a Milly Johnson book, then pick one up. If you enjoy Katie fforde or Jill man sell, I guarantee you that you will love Milly Johnson.
Four from childhood go on a cruise together. All four women have a chance to find love on the cruise or have the time away to think about what they are going to do with their love life or marriage when they get home. Especially Olive who finally realizes the extent that her husband and her mother-in-law have taken her for granted. The cruise is scheduled to make a stop where she can look up a new love? Will she do it and if she does will she discover it's too late? The cruise starts out bumpy because Roz is holding on to a grudge against Frankie for what happened between Manus(her boyfriend) and Frankie a few years ago? Is it possible she was wrong about what exactly happened and can she possibly fix things with Manus before it's too late. Ven finds the captain of the ship attractive and Frankie possibly has a chance with one of the fellow passengers. With a sixteen day cruise there is plenty of things good and bad that can happen on the ship. A very entertaining read that made me think a little bit of The Love Boat(in a good way) and it was definitely a very fun book as well. If some of her books are as entertaining as this one I will definitely consider reading more from Milly Johnson in the future.
